USA vs. Canada. We came, we battled, we conquered!

July 11, 2015

8 current and former Warrior players, along with two coaches joined up with the “All-Star Youth Sports” football all-star team to travel to Miami, Florida for a showdown with the NPFA American all-star team.  We WON the game in a shut out 11-0.

Long time Warrior coaches Paul Cooper and Mike Pauls, assisted former BC Lion great, Cory Philpot, with leading a group of 13 & 14 year old players from the Lower Mainland.  These athletes were selected from among the best at their age group in the Province, to go to battle down south & take on the Americans on the Fourth of July.

The game was advertised as Canada vs. USA.  Although the Americans had some incredibly talented players on their team – they underestimated our team play and faced a solid group ofBC boys who brought grit and determination with them.  Our Warriors had an interception, multiple QB sacks and tackles for losses on Defense & created tremendous blocking for our Offense.  The All-Star Youth Sports team dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides and kept the American talent wrapped up tightly.  A few unfortunately timed offensive fumbles prevented us from scoring a few more TDs & making the score a bit more decisive.

Strong work ethic and Canadian grit was prevalent on our team.

An incredible sense of Canadian pride was felt by all the players, coaches and family members who flew down for the game.

Huge congratulations to: Eric ZychilinskiAyadh Badurdeen, Noah Hochfelder, Zach P.Isaac Corber, Aiden Bertuzzi, Alex F, & Peter BThe first 7 players listed also had an undefeated JB season last year winning their League Championship on Grey Cup Sunday & Peter’s Eric Hamber school team took second place in their league.

We look forward to many of them representing the Warriors again this fall on our Bantam team and on various Provincial teams!

Go Canada Go!!

Go Warriors Go!!
